The island boasts several beautiful beaches, quaint villages and charming towns including Naoussa, an old fishing village which is now a top cosmopolitan holiday destination.

Things to do

  • Church of Panagia Ekatontapiliani: The church of 100 doors is located in Parikia, very close to the harbour. Legend has it that the original church was built by St. Helen, the mother of St. Constantine. This 4th century monument was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1773.
  • Old Town: The old town of Parikia is believed to be the biggest in the Cyclades Island. The narrow alleys are lined with numerous bars, restaurants, gift shops, supermarkets and corner shops. It also has the Kastro, an old Venetian fort, and numerous ancient sites.
  • Lefkes village: Located in the middle of the island, Lefkes features many nice tavernas, and beautiful alleys. From the village, visitors can take a very nice walk at the old stones of the Byzantine Route down to Prodromos.
  • Beaches: Paros boasts many beautiful beaches with each offering a different experience. Some of the more popular ones include Farangas, Parasporos, Krios, Kato yalos, Agia Irini, and Logaras.  Paros is also famous for its water sports notably kite and wind surfing especially on the beaches of "chryssi akti" and "tserdakia" near the coastal town of Dryos.

Wining & Dining

Seafront dining is very popular in Paros and so you will find nice tavernas along the coast. Besides, there are plenty of dining options in the old town with its charming narrow streets and unique Cycladic atmosphere. While in Paros, you must eat in any of the "Ouzeri" in Naoussa and taste Gouna fish and octopus in vinegar.

Nightlife

Most of the nightlife in Paros is concentrated in the beach bars and in the bars and clubs in the narrow alleyways of the old town of Parikia. The bars play jazz, blues, and classical music. Naousa too has its share of bars and clubs which are more sophisticated and less boisterous than those in Parikia. For traditional Greek entertainment on Paros, you may see a performance by the local community dance group in Naoussa.
